In 1976, Nora Aunor (under NV Productions) produced a movie entitled Mrs. Teresa Abad...Ako Po Si Bing starring Charito Solis and Christopher De Leon. The movie was about a May-December romance inspired by Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft's movie The Graduate. In this movie, Charito Solis played a school teacher and Christopher De Leon was her student.

After Bigshot, they have done Krisalis (1957), Villa Milagrosa (1958), Ang Langit Ko'y Ikaw (1959), Kung Ako'y Mahal Mo 1960), Dahlia (1960), Unos Sa Laot (1960), Ang Bukas Ay Akin (1963), Madugong Daigdig ni Aurora (1963) and Ginintuang Ani (1964).

 This lasted for 7 years until they rekindled their loveteam in 1982 movie Cross My Heart with Sharon Cuneta and Rowell Santiago.

Trivia - Her Directors....

Ms Charito Solis is the only actress who has been directed by six (6) Philippine National Artist Awadees namely Lamberto Avellana, Gerardo De Leon, Eddie Romero, Manuel Conde , Ishmael Bernal and Lino Brocka. 

PS: Hopefully, Ms Charito Solis will be named National Artist of the Philippines for her great contibutions, recognitions and dedication to the Philippine Cinema.

Rosa Aguirre (right) played a mother to Charito Solis in one of the presentations of "The Charito Solis Show" on Channel 3 every Saturday 9:30 to 10pm.

From 1966 to 1968, Solis had a weekly TV show on ABS-CBN entitled The Charito Solis Show.

Trivia - Dahil Sa Isang Bulaklak

Dahil sa Isang Bulaklak,  starring Charito Solis and Ric Rodrigo and shown in 1967, marks the revival of Nepomuceno Productions, founded before World War II by Jose Nepomuceno, father of Philippine movies. ("Charito, Ric star in Landmark Filipino Film". philstar.com. Oct, 30, 2011)

It was billed ‘The biggest  Filipino motion picture ever!’ and ‘The first Filipino film in color by De Luxe.’


The movie was a blockbuster, shown for several months at the Manila Grand Opera House, renovated to be the home of Nepomuceno pictures. Dahil sa Isang Bulaklak, noted for its technical polish and five-hankie plot (meaning tearjerker), gave Charito Asia’s Best Actress award. ("Charito, Ric star in Landmark Filipino Film". philstar.com. Oct, 30, 2011) 

 

 The film was selected as the Philippine entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 40th Academy Awards and Ms Charito Solis was invited to attend the awards night, the first Filipina to ever do so.
