Feliciano Constantino, Charito Solis’ uncle/director, brought the latter to LVN matriarch Narcisa de Leon in 1955 and was immediately cast opposite Jaime de la Rosa in “Nina Bonita” (1955). The success of Nina Bonita called a second team-up with Jaime de la Rosa in “Dinayang Pagmamahal”. One of the most memorable films was “malvarosa (1958), an Asian Film Festival winner. Trivia - Dahil Sa Isang Bulaklak

Dahil sa Isang Bulaklak,  starring Charito Solis and Ric Rodrigo and shown in 1967, marks the revival of Nepomuceno Productions, founded before World War II by Jose Nepomuceno, father of Philippine movies. ("Charito, Ric star in Landmark Filipino Film". philstar.com. Oct, 30, 2011)

It was billed ‘The biggest  Filipino motion picture ever!’ and ‘The first Filipino film in color by De Luxe.’

The movie was a blockbuster, shown for several months at the Manila Grand Opera House, renovated to be the home of Nepomuceno pictures. Dahil sa Isang Bulaklak, noted for its technical polish and five-hankie plot (meaning tearjerker), gave Charito Asia’s Best Actress award.  The film was selected as the Philippine entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 40th Academy Awards and Ms Charito Solis was invited to attend the awards night, the first Filipina to ever do so.
