Ms Charito Solis became the first actress to be inducted into the FAMAS Hall of Fame. In 1959, she won her first Famas Best Actress for the movie Kundiman ng Lahi directed by National Artist Lamberto Avellana. The next year, she made another record for being the first actress to ever win back to back Famas Best Actress award for her performance in 1960 movie Emily (considered by Ms Solis as one of her most memorable movies in an interview by Mario Bautista in 1978). Her third Famas Award was in 1963 for a difficult role in Angustia. Then she starred in Igorota, a film by Nepomuceno Productions, where she became the first Filipina actress to bare her breasts on film. Her role in Igorota won her another FAMAS Best Actress Award in 1968. Her fifth win was for the movie Don't Cry for me Papa in 1983 with Ric Rodrigo and Lisa Lorena ( the three stars appeared all together in a movie Dahil Sa Isang Bulaklak in 1967). After her fifth win, she became the first actress to be inducted into the Famas Hall of Fame in 1984, a recognition Ms Charito Solis truly deserved.
